LEWISTON — Untold Strength Inc. has announced This is My Brave Inc. will be coming to Lewiston in November. The “This is My Brave” shows are live theater events where real people tell real stories about their real life mental health issues.

“My Brave’ seeks to remove the stigma of mental illness, open a dialogue and create opportunities for people to thoughtfully engage around the topic of mental health through the showcase.

Held previously in cities across the country, this year “This is My Brave: The Show” will make its way to 16 cities across the U.S. and Australia.

Locally, the show will take place at the Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center on Sunday, Nov. 5. Persons who struggle with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, suicide attempts, anorexia or bulimia, schizophrenia, PTSD and others, are encouraged to tell their story in essay, poetry or original song. Caregivers are also encouraged to tell their side of the story. All ages are welcome to express their story.

Untold Strength will hold various fundraisers over the next several months.

The group is still seeking sponsors.
