AUBURN — John Carlton Carver Sr., 80, a longtime resident of Turner, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 18, at the Hospice House in Auburn, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Livermore Falls on Jan. 9, 1937, the son of Elwood and Fleeta Carver. He attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little in 1955. He enjoyed coaching softball and later having his own softball team. He enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling and time with his family. He was self-employed for many years as a television repairman.

John is survived by his wife, Laura Carver, of Turner; children, Carol Carver-Cote and husband, Ron, John Carver Jr. and wife, Terry, Jim Carver and wife, Sue, Donna Cote and husband, Tom; stepchildren, Ronald Spaulding Jr., and Myrna Conrod. Additionally, he is survived by grandchildren Justin Carver, Matthew Cote, Erica Carver, Christopher Carver, Alex Cote and Lynda Nichols; and three great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Dorothy Hanson, Margaret Hodge, Judy Boothby and Sandra Vye.

He is preceded by Joan Lyons, Roger Carver, Norma Hoy and David Carver; and stepson, Michael Spaulding.
