MANCHESTER, N.H. — Mason Oscar Scammon, 68, died on Friday, March 10, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, N.H.

He was born on Nov. 18, 1948, in Brockton, Mass., son of the late Henry and Priscilla (Eustis) Scammon. He was the brother of David and Jeff Scammon of Bridgton and the husband of Gail Scammon. They were married on May 30, 1993, in Derry, N.H.

Mason graduated from Gorham High School in Gorham, in 1967. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1971. Mason spent his working years in many lumber yards. He ended his career as the warehouse supervisor at the Concord State Prison.

Mason played soccer in high school, and enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and especially enjoyed his dogs. Buddy has been his constant companion for the last 16 years.

Mason is survived by his loving wife, Gail Scammon, of Webster, N.H.; his three daughters, Penny Wall of Lewiston, Becky Dean of Amherst, N.H., and Casey Mele of Milford, N.H.; he also leaves behind eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mason was predeceased by his brother, Hank Scammon of Salem, N.H.
