A vehicle went off the road at about 1 p.m. Monday and hit a mailbox on Montello Street in Lewiston. Emergency personnel didn’t know whether the wet road conditions or a medical event contributed to the cause of the crash. Police said the driver was taken from the scene by a relative. The vehicle went off Montello Street between Hogan Road and Central Street. Traffic was diverted from Montello Street to Hogan Road for about an hour. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
