FRYEBURG — Taylor Kruger, a senior at Fryeburg Academy, has been selected to receive the 2017 Principal’s Award, Head of School Erin P. Mayo announced. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement, citizenship and leadership.

“Taylor has been an exemplary student throughout her career at FA. She distinguishes herself as a superb student-athlete, with a strong work ethic in the classroom and on the playing fields,” expressed Head of School Erin Mayo at the all-school meeting. “I am delighted to recognize such a well deserving student who is admired by both teachers and fellow students alike.”

Kruger and Michelle Figella, her school counselor, along with other award winners will be invited to attend the Honors Luncheon in Bangor on April 1. The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of ten $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler. McGowan and Tyler were former Maine principals and executive directors of the Association.
