LEWISTON — Concert pianist and teacher Kevin Ayesh will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, at The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.
It is the fifth program in the 2016-2017 Piano Series season. The recital will feature works by Mozart, Chopin, Brahms and Fauré, and close with a performance of “Rhapsody in Blue” by Gershwin.
Ayesh has been head of the Music Department at Blue Ridge Community College in Flat Rock, North Carolina, since 1992.
He studied in his native city of Wichita, Kansas, with Elinor Aiken, and received his Bachelor of Music degree with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin. He obtained his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the University of Maryland.
General admission is $15; seniors, $10; and students free. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Box Office hours are noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and two hours before every show.
All proceeds will benefit the Franco Center.
