Eleanor Cushman

1931 ā€“ 2017

Eleanor Cushman, age 85 of Springboro, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. Eleanor was born in Wilton, Maine on September 17, 1931 to the late Roland and Elfie Melcher.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Maynard Cushman; brother, Paul Melcher.

She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda (Michael) Bradstreet, Bonnie (Paul) Jones; son, Gary (Beverly) Cushman; seven grandchildren Shawn (Deana) Mahan, Brandon (Sarah) Cushman, Amanda (Mike) Jackson, Megan (Andrew) Minton, Heidi (Eric) Norrell, Brad (Nikki) Jones, ValerieĀ  Jones; fifteen great grandchildren Lydia and Blake Cushman, Bryce, Myla, Eliza, Libby Jackson, Lily Minton, Jake and Eli Norrell, Alexis, Ethan and Harper Jones; nephew, Larry (Mary) Melcher; niece, Sue Melcher; two great nephews, Nick (Krista) and Tanner Melcher, Gregory Melcher and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Eleanor loved her family and friends. She loved to cook and bake for everyone. She was a long-time Springboro resident and an avid Springboro Panther fan.Ā  Eleanor was an active member of the Springboro Mothers Club, Springboro Historical Society, and was an active volunteer in the Springboro community. She was an icon at the Donut Haus. Eleanor was a Homemaker, worked at Chmiels IGA bakery, and worked at Springboro Jr. High School cafeteria. Eleanor and Maynard and their family enjoyed summers at their cottage in Maine on Worthley Pond. Eleanor was all about her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always at their events.Ā 

Funeral services areĀ Friday, April 14, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Homes, 40 North Main Street Springboro, Ohio with Pastor Jason Sharp officiating. Burial in Springboro Cemetery. Visitation will be held fromĀ 10 a.m. ā€“ 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to service.
