Registration for Lewiston pre-K to be held May 3

LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Schools will hold registration for pre-kindergarten classes on Wednesday, May 3. Sign-ups will be held at the following times and locations for each school:

Governor James B. Longley Elementary School: 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Governor James B. Longley School, 145 Birch St.

Farwell Elementary School: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Farwell Elementary School, 84110 Farwell St.

Martel School: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas J. McMahon School, 151 North Temple St.

Thomas J. McMahon Elementary School: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas J. McMahon School, 151 North Temple St.

Montello School: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Montello School, 407 East Ave.

Raymond A. Geiger Elementary School: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Raymond A. Geiger Elementary School, 601 Lewiston St.

Parents and guardians are required to bring the following documentation for the child:

• Official birth certificate;

• Immunization records; and

• Proof of residency (parent or guardian’s driver’s license with school appropriate address, lease or rent agreement, utility bills or mortgage agreement); and

• I-94 or green card if the child was not born in the U.S.

The child must have been born between Oct. 16, 2012, and Oct. 15, 2013, to be enrolled in prekindergarten classes.

It is not necessary to bring your child to pre-K registration.

Parents who are not available on May 3 can make alternate arrangements by contacting their home school or calling the superintendent’s office at 207-795-4103 for more information.

If a lottery is needed, it will be held 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, at at the Lewiston Public Schools Central Office, 36 Oak St. The lottery will be based on all students enrolled by June 2.
