AUGUSTA – Lewiston High School graduate Fowsiyo Musse, now a student at the University of Southern Maine, received a $1,000 scholarship from the Legislative Memorial Scholarship Fund on April 11.

Musse and other winners were awarded their scholarships in the Maine Senate. One recipient from each Maine county earned a scholarship.

The Legislative Memorial Scholarship Fund is administered by the Finance Authority of Maine. The fund was created by the Maine Legislature and staff to annually recognize one student from each county, who is currently or is planning to pursue education at a two- or four-year degree-granting Maine college or technical school.

This scholarship is available for full or part-time students. Applications are available for the 2017-2018 round of scholarships and are due on May 1.
