LEWISTON — Young fiddler Owen Kennedy is the featured performer at the upcoming Oasis of Music concert, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 247 Bates St. This is a free event.
Kennedy will perform a program of energetic traditional tunes from Quebec and Maritime Canada, Scottish & Celtic classics, and a few New England favorites. Kennedy’s joyful, energetic fiddling entertains an audience of all ages: young ones dance in their seats and older folks take a trip down memory lane to kitchen parties of the past.
A resident of Winthrop, Kennedy performs regularly with the Maine Folque Co-op and The Pineland Fiddlers, and recently appeared with the Mozart Mentors Orchestra at Bowdoin College and as part of the Maine Acoustic Festival at USM’s Hannaford Hall.
