NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center announces its summer schedule. All programs offered by the Center are free to anyone impacted by cancer. New visitors are welcome to stop by for information and to join in one or all of the activities.

Drop-in hours are every Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers are available to provide comfort items such as port protectors, wigs, hats, pillows or to help find resources.

Men’s Rally Group: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27. Vance Jordan and Nel Bernard invite men who have recently been recently diagnosed with cancer, in treatment or who are survivors to join them. Games such as chess and backgammon are available, plus Nel will offer a chair massage. FMI: 207-583-2975, 207-312-9955.

Banding Together to Restore: 10 to 11 a.m. Mondays, June 5, 12, 19 and 26, at Richard Bader Physical Therapy, 176 Main Street, Norway. The program, led by Lori Britting, is focused on regaining motion and strength through guided instruction using stretching and colored Therabands. Each participant will be encouraged to work within their abilities that will safely gain their desired goals. Getting back energy and the ability to move easier and carry out daily tasks and enjoying life are part of this program. Preregistration is encouraged. FMI: 207-890-0329.

Yoga Warriors: 3 to 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Posabilities, 15 Tannery Street, Norway. This free gentle yoga class will support healthy living for individuals facing the challenges of cancer through gentle movement and breath, supportive restorative yoga postures and guided mediation and relaxation. Yoga for Wellness: 8 to 9 a.m. Fridays. Either Kat Larsen or Sherri will teach the class at the Center which will include breathing, movement and relaxing meditation while seated or standing.

Chair Yoga: 2 to 3 p.m. Fridays. Sherri leads the class in chair yoga. No mats are necessary; chairs are provided.

Reiki Introduction Presentation: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 9. Charlotte Labelle of Teresia Reiki will demonstrate how Reiki helps to alleviate stress and promote relaxation.

Guided Meditation Gathering: 1 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 14. Guided meditation, led by Susan Kane, encourages those present to use their imagination and five senses to relax and lower stress.

Stampin’ Up: 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 6. Kathy provides materials and instruction to make a variety of cards.

Fabric Crafting with Barbara: 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Sew Orchid Design, 316 Main, Norway. Barbara Daigle has one more non-sewing craft for participants to complete before the summer break.

Knitting and Crocheting: 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays. Participants learn to knit or crochet.

Coloring for Adults: 1 to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Coloring books and a variety of markers are available.

Cards and Games: 1 to 2 p.m. Fridays. Various games are available at the Center to play, or participants may bring one of their own to get a game started.

Walk and Talk with David: David will share his favorite walking routes around Norway. FMI: 207-739-7027.

The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine is located at 199 Main St, Norway, in the Stephens Memorial Hospital Specialty Clinic building. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Thursday and Friday.
