LEWISTON — Frank J. Anicetti, better known as “Mr. Moxie,” passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, May 22, at the Marshwood Center in Lewiston. He was born in Lewiston on April 22, 1940, the son of the late Frank and Catherine (Ivanisin) Anicetti.
Frank attended Lisbon High School and later went into business with his father at Kennebec Fruit Company. In the early ’80s, Frank held a book signing for Frank Potter, the author of “The Moxie Mystique.” Moxie fans flocked to the signing and the rest is history and the Moxie festival started. Frank was known for being a kind, generous and unique individual. The best thing that Frank liked, was talking to everybody about anything and everything.
Frank is survived by his sister, Cathey Bienkowski and her husband, Robert, of Michigan; his nieces, Sara Weinberg, J.D., and Allison Evans Ph.D. and her husband, David Evans, M.D.; his nephew, Justin Bienkowski DVM; and many grandnieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Friends and family are invited to share their memories and offer their condolences by visiting Frank’s online guestbook at www.crosmanfuneralhome.com.
