SKOWHEGAN — Sydney Ames sparked the Skowhegan offense in a 3-2 victory over Edward Little in the KVAC Class A softball championship on Friday.

Ames followed an Alyssa Everett walk in the bottom of the third with a single. Both came in to score on an Ashley Alward single for a 2-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, Ames led off with a double, moved to third base on a sacifice and later scored on a wild pitch to give the Indians a 3-0 lead.

The next half inning, the Red Eddies put their two runs on the board. Kylie Bureau scored on a Grace Beaudet single, and Taylor Depot scored on an Emmy Lasua single.

Lashua was the only EL player with two hits.

Fryeburg 3, York 2, 8 inings

FRYEBURG — An errant throw in the bottom of the eighth inning scored the game-winning run for Fryeburg Academy in a 3-2 victory over York.

Makayla Cooper had an infield hit that led to the error.

The Raiders (13-3) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third before the Wildcats tied it in the top of the fifth with a sacifice fly. York took the lead in the sixth when Julia Babcock led off with a double and later scored on a RBI single from Sophia Stephens. 

Fryeburg tied it in the bottom of a sixth when Cooper had a double and later scored on a sac fly.

York (5-11) left runners on second and third in its half of the seventh.
