AUGUSTA — Maine Connections Academy (MCA), the state’s first virtual charter school for students in grades 7-12, will host an in-person commencement ceremony to honor 45 students in its third class of graduating seniors at 3 p.m Thursday, June 8, at the Augusta Civic Center.

The keynote address will be delivered by successful Paralympic athlete, Josh Kennison, of Norway, who will speak to the importance of maintaining persistence and hope in the face of adversity. Kennison’s speech will be livestreamed on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MaineConnectionsAcademy

Four seniors will be recognized with awards from the Maine Principal’s Association at the ceremony, and several graduates will also share stories from their experiences in an online classroom setting, and their hopes for the future.

A reception will follow the ceremonies, which will be held in the North Wing Pine Tree Room.
