Wabanaki REACH workshop

AUGUSTA — Maine-Wabanaki REACH is sponsoring a free public workshop, titled “Decolonization and the Role of Faith Communities,” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at the Unitarian-Universalist Community Church of Augusta, 6 Summer St.

This workshop is intended for people of faith who wish to understand the destructive impacts of colonization and take actions to repair the harms to indigenous people, the land, and creating a more just and compassionate society.

The workshop will provide beverages and snacks, but participants are advised to bring a brown bag lunch.

Summer Food Service Program

POLAND — The RSU 16 is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at:

Poland Regional High School: Breakfast 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.; lunch 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Poland Community School: Breakfast 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m.; lunch noon to 1 p.m.

Marine Corps League meeting

LEWISTON — Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment 810 will host its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

All Marines, FMF Corpsman and Navy Chaplains are welcome. Anyone interested in Marines Helping Veterans is also welcome to attend.

Ventriloquist and Magician at Lewiston Library

LEWISTON —The Lewiston Public Library Children’s Departmentwill host ventriloquist and magician, Dana Perkins  at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, in Callahan Hall.

Perkins has been practicing magic tricks since he was four years old. He has traveled all over New England performing for families
