LEWISTON — Francis W. Hoyt, 83, of East Bethel Road, passed away Sunday, June 18, at Montello Manor in Lewiston following a brief illness.

He was born in Rumford on Oct. 16, 1933, a son of Wayland and Flora (McDonald) Hoyt.

Francis was educated in Rumford schools.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Francis was employed with the state of Maine for almost 40 years, in the Bridge Division No. 7 out of Bangor.

He enjoyed woodworking, snowmobiling and hunting.

Surviving are his brothers Kenneth A. Hoyt and wife, Alice, of Bryant Pond, Maynard Hoyt of Kentucky, Raymond E. Hoyt and wife, Earline, of Rumford and Donald L. Hoyt and wife, Andrea, of Bryant Pond; sisters Florence Lagasse of Lewiston and Miss Alice Hoyt of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Shirley McKenna; and brother, Ralph Hoyt.
