PEMBROKE, New Hampshire — John Beaupre of Carrabassett Valley, co-owner of Ayottes Country Store, Mountainside Grocers and Sugarloaf Grocery in Carrabassett Valley, and Anni’s Market in Kingfield, was named to the board of directors of the Associated Grocers of New England at its annual stockholders meeting in June.

Beaupre is vice chairman of the Carrabassett Valley Board of Selectmen and has spent time on the Associated Grocers of Maine board of directors along with other positions.

His community involvement includes serving as chairman of the Ayotte Scholarship Fund that has raised more than $100,000 for local student scholarships, and founding and creating the Maine Celebrity Classic that raised more than $200,000 for the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville. He has been awarded the Associated Grocers of Maine Retailer of the Year award and has been named Business of the Year and Member of the Year by the Sugarloaf Chamber of Commerce.
