OTISFIELD — Edward Mark Quinn, 59, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, at his residence.

Edward was born on September 4, 1957, in St. Petersburg, Fla., to Vivian Blanchard. Upon her death when he was 2 years old, Ed was adopted by Vivian’s sister and husband, Marion and Joseph Quinn.

He was raised in Norway and graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1976. After graduating, Ed served in the U.S. Army.

After leaving the Army, Ed began working for the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office in 1980. He worked his way through the ranks eventually being appointed jail administrator in 2010, retiring on May 27, 2017, as captain.

In June 1980, he married the love of his life, Sharie Green. They had one daughter, Shonna.

Ed loved spending time on his boat fishing and going deer hunting in the fall, but the greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family, and his three grandchildren were the center of his world and apples of his eye.

He will be remembered for his storytelling, barbecue skills, his sense of humor, and strong opinions on just about everything.

He is predeceased by his mother, Vivian; his parents, Marion and Joe Quinn, his grandfather, Edward Newcomb; and special uncle, Dick.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharie Quinn; his daughter, Shonna and her husband, Justin; his three grandchildren, Kayley, Kyle and Kaleb; his best “grand- dog” in the world, Levi; and other nieces and nephews.
