“Music for Mavis” Tuesdays at the Gazebo in Turner will host fusion jazz band Satori at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 18. The band features French avant garde jazz musicians Lauren Brondel and Chuck Thornton, who are also luthiers (guitar makers), and drummer Cameron Lopez, who recently graduated with a degree in jazz and contemporary music from the University of Maine. Listeners may recognize a song or not, but the virtuosity, creativity and excellence of the musicianship will resonate either way. There is no admission fee, but a hat will be passed to pay the musicians. Bring a chair or bring a blanket.
