LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating a break-in at the First Baptist Church on Church Street and a motor vehicle burglary on Monroe Street between Sunday night and Monday morning.
The church burglar pried open a window to the donation room and took eight four-packs of toilet paper and three bottles of laundry detergent, Lt. Joseph Sage said Tuesday.
Police were told by a representative of the church that the items were purchased at the Dollar Tree store. The burglary was reported to police at 9:19 a.m. Monday. Sgt. Vernon Stevens responded to investigate, Sage said. Thirty-two minutes later, Stevens responded to a report of a theft on Monroe Street.
The complainant reported that a burglar stole a black suitcase that contained personal items worth about $400 from an unlocked vehicle, Sage said.
Anyone who has information on the burglaries is asked to call the Livermore Falls Police Station at 897-3424.
