SOUTH PARIS — Valerie Spence, 63, passed away peacefully at her home in South Paris on Aug. 3. She was born in Willimantic, Conn., to the late Ernest J. Tarckini and Johanna Opitiz.

After graduating from high school, Valerie joined the U.S. Army, serving as a nurse during the Vietnam War.

Always upbeat and positive, Valerie enjoyed gardening, her flower beds and spending time with her family.

Valerie is survived by her loving husband, Travis Spence, beloved daughter, Tammylyn Danforth, her adoring brother, Ron Tarckini, sisters Mary Ann Sandberg, Linda Bouchard, Carol Amaio, Barbara Vaina and Patty Burnham.

Also, her grandchildren Ashley Ruest, Joshua Ruest, Stephen Howhannesian, and great-grandchildren Joselyn “Bug” and Quinten Michael. Her Aunt Arlene Lavoie, niece Stacy Farrington and nephew Rick Burnham and many, many friends.
