FRYEBURG — A Brownfield man was arrested on a felony assault charge early Sunday morning after police received a 911 call and responding to a reported rolling domestic, according to a press release from the Fryeburg Police Department.

Craig J. Robinson, 28, of Brownfield was arrested by Fryeburg police on Haley Town Road at 2 a.m. in the woods near where the incident occurred.

Fryeburg police received a 911 call from a Haley Town Road resident who heard screaming and witnessed a female being assaulted in his driveway.

The initial assault occurred in and outside of a motor vehicle on Haley Town Road. The 31-year-old woman attempted to flee to the caller’s residence for help, according to police.

Officers drew Tasers on Robinson, but did not use them, the release states.

Robinson was charged with aggravated domestic violence assault, a Class B felony, and was taken to the Oxford County Jail, where he is being held without bail.

“My officers follow a strict ‘No Excuse’ policy when it comes to domestic violence,” Fryeburg Police Chief Joshua Potvin said in the release. “Officers have received specialized training to deal with these types of situations which include providing appropriate services to the victim and holding offenders accountable.”

Fryeburg Rescue responded to the scene to treat the woman for injuries to the arms, legs and face.
