TURNER — Kora Shrine of Lewiston will host the sixth annual Kora Kares for Kids annual Charity Rally on Tuesday, Aug. 29, at Twitchell’s Airport Field.

Kora invites all motorcycles, classic cars, ATVs and barbecue enthusiasts to join in for the day. Twitchell’s will be open from noon to 6 p.m. The event is open to the public.

The day will start with a breakfast and social gathering to meet hospital patients and hear their success stories. Registration and breakfast will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Rides will leave at 10.

Activities at the field will include a live band, DR. Fat Finger, a barbecue competition sanctioned by the Northeast Barbecue Society, barbecue food, and a corn hole tournament.

Admission to the field is free. To participate in the ATV, motorcycle or classic car ride, go to korashriners.org to register. Registration is also open the day of the event, but early registration guarantees a T-shirt. Donations are encouraged for the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Kora Shrine sponsors children from birth to age 18 who are in need of care, regardless of the ability to pay. Over the last five years, the ride-in has donated over $ 30,000 to Shriners Burn Hospital in Boston and Shriners Orthopedic Hospital in Springfield, Mass.

In addition, last year Kora Shrine assisted approximately 85 patients and families with transportation, overnight accommodations and local outreach clinics with funding of about $19,500.
