Farmington police say that a vehicle driven by Jeffrey S. Lewis, 31, of Hampden, crossed the yellow line on Wilton Road on Sunday night and collided head-on with a car driven by Casey Bragg, 39, of Farmington. Bragg was injured and was treated and released from a Farmington hospital. Lewis was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence, Deputy Police Chief Shane Cote said Monday.

FARMINGTON — A local woman was injured Sunday night when another vehicle crossed over the yellow line on Wilton Road and struck her car, head-on, Deputy Police Chief Shane Cote said Monday. 

Jeffrey S. Lewis, 31, of Hampden was driving a sport utility vehicle south on Wilton Road, also known as routes 2/4,  and it crossed over the yellow line and struck a car driven by Casey Bragg, 39, of Farmington that was heading north, Cote said.

Bragg was injured and was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. She was treated and released, a FMH spokeswoman said Monday.

Lewis was arrested on a charge of OUI, Cote said. He was taken to Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington and released later in the evening on $250 cash bail.

Officer Brandon Sholan and Sgt. Edward Hastings IV were assisted at the scene of the accident reported at about 8:14 p.m. by Franklin County sheriff’s Deputy Brad Scovil, Farmington Fire Rescue Department and NorthStar EMS ambulance crew. 

Another driver in a separate crash was arrested on charges of operating under the influence.

At about 4:53 p.m. Sunday,  Herbert C. Mosher IV, 21, of Farmington lost control of the vehicle he was driving on Town Farm Road in Farmington, Cote said.

The car rolled over and went into a a ditch and struck a pole, he said.

Mosher was arrested on a charge of OUI and was taken to the jail in Farmington. He was released on $250 cash bail later in the day.

Sholan and Hastings handled the accident. Farmington Fire Rescue and NorthStar were called to assist at the scene.
