LEWISTON — Former area resident Michael Mitchell will be a featured guest at The Great Falls Comic Expo at the Lewiston Armory, Saturday, Sept.23. The Expo will include many other talented artists and writers along with selected “cosplayers” who will dress up as their favorite characters from well recognized comic book heroes and characters. Tickets are $5 and children under 12 are admitted for FREE.
Michael Mitchell who was born and raised in Livermore Falls, and raised his own children for many years at his home in Fayette, will join several other vendors to introduce area residents to the wonderful world of comic-making. Mitchell, who has lived in New Hampshire since 2011, has started his own comic book company, along with his wife, Michelle. Together the two of them have written and illustrated 13 comic book titles.
Three of their comics deal specifically with New Hampshire history. “We love New Hampshire, and the rich history the state has to offer,” Michelle Mitchell said. Their comics do not stop with the educational however, as they also produce an all-ages action/adventure series called “ZOMBIE SUB-920.” “We wanted to create a comic where the zombies were the good guys for a change.” Michael said. Nearly four years later their comics can be found in comic shops and gift stores throughout New England.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
