Having read the article about Moses C. Hanscom (July 28) having received the Medal of Honor, I was deeply moved. Hanscom was a Civil War veteran who served his country with honor, distinction and beyond the call of duty.

There is, in Lewiston, a Veterans Memorial Park that assures that such a veteran will never be forgotten. Therefore, as the founder of that park, where every day is a silent night, announce that his name will be placed on the monument and unveiled next May 30, which is Memorial Day.
