POLAND — Police from multiple agencies were heading into the woods off North Raymond Road late Thursday after a vehicle chase that began in Oxford.

Early reports were that the driver of a stolen van was at one point clocked at about 80 mph as he headed up King Street in Oxford to Megquier Hill Road in Poland.

After speeding onto North Raymond Road, the driver reportedly turned onto Wild Turkey Way, a dead end, before bailing from the van and running into the woods.

By 9:30 p.m., police were preparing to head into the woods in search of the driver with tracking dogs.

Wild Turkey Lane is near the intersection of North Raymond Road and Route 11. It is a short distance from Bragdon Hill Road, also a dead end.
