What to expect: Nothing could match last year’s roller coaster ride through the playoffs, but the Greyhounds plan to be back in the thick of the postseason drama this season despite having a number of holes to fill. Dick Mynahan retired as head coach after 30 years, yet there is plenty of continuity under Kates, a former player and assistant coach for the past four years. Francis moves from running back to quarterback, where his physical running style still suits their power running game. Harriman, Thompson and Bourget will also help them control the ball with an offensive line that returns all but two starters leading the way. Most of the scheme changes will be on defense, where they will try to utilize their speed.
