Coach: Mark Soehren (sixth year)

Region: A North

Last year’s record: 5-5, lost in Class A North semifinals

Returning athletes: Seniors —  Dawson Stevens (RB/DE), Jason Paradis (FB/OLB), Jordan Silver (TE/ILB), Jarrod Taylor (C/DE), Shawn Hermanson (G/DT), Tasker Winslow (WR/CB), Jamal Hill (G/DT); Juniors — Parker LaFrance (FB/ILB), Austin Doughty (T/DT); Sophomore  — Trent Tibbetts (G/DT).

Key losses: Ryland VanDecker (RB), Connor Bickford (TE), Adaryan Ray (DT).

Promising newcomers: Seniors — Dylan Cobbett (WR/OLB), Chris St. Pierre (WR); Juniors —  Emerson Brown (RB/OLB), Cameron Slicer (RB/DB), Colton Carson (QB/DE); Sophomore — Jeff Worcester (FB/DE).

What to expect: The Vikings could continue building off of a strong 2016 season despite having some key spots to fill and a tough schedule. Carson, a baseball and basketball standout as a sophomore, takes over at quarterback. They will look to a committee of running backs led by Stevens, Slicer and Brown to move the ball behind a big offensive line. The defensive line is new but has some varsity experience. The linebackers should be solid, while Winslow leads a young, athletic secondary.
