BETHEL — Mt. Abram scored three times in the final 20 minutes to come away with a 3-1 victory over Telstar in a MVC boys’ soccer match Monday.

Jonathan Jordan tied the game at on, and Evan Allen broke the tie with a little over six minutes remaining in the game. Tyson Hill added an insurance marker with 2:30 left.

The Rebels jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first half, Tristen Lilly scoring with 5:35 remaining in the opening 40.

Oak Hill 4, Dirigo 0

SABATTUS — Oak Hill spread the ball around in its 4-0 boys’ soccer victory over Dirigo.

Ethan Ivy, Caleb Leighton, Niko Soucy and Zach Neal all scored. The victory was the Radiers’ (1-2) first of 2017.

Dirigo (0-3), meanwhile, is still looking for its first win of the young season.

Winthrop 5, Mountain Valley 5, tie

WINTHROP — The Ramblers battled back in the second half to earn a 5-5 tie with Montain Valley in boys’ soccer action Monday.

Winthrop scored all five of its goals in the final 40 minutes. Rowan Goebel-Bain sparked the comeback with a hat trick, while Jared McLaughlin and Mike Morales each found the back of the net once for the Ramblers (1-0-1).

Goebel-Bain assisted on both of those goals. Gavin Brill and Noah Grube had an assist apiece.

Mountain Valley jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half. Its goals came from Espen Lamberg, who had two, along with one each by Moritz Wehrhaim, Jacob Rainey and Garret Carbarini.

Kaleb Noyes led the Falcons (2-0-1) with two assists.

Ben Boulay made seven saves for Winthrop, while Jacob Rainey stopped six shots.

Lisbon 2, Spruce Mountain 1

JAY — Cam Poisson came through in the clutch from 12 yards out. The Lisbon junior scored twice off of penalty kicks to lift the Greyhounds to a 2-1 boys’ soccer victory over Spruce Mountain on Monday.

Both goals came in the second half.

The Phoenix got off to a fast start, as Brady Walp scored 53 seconds into the game. That goal was assisted by Jack Gilbert.

Girls’ soccer

Wells 4, Poland 2

WELLS — After an action packed first half, Wells came away with a 4-2 victory over Poland in a WMC girls’ soccer contes Monday.

All six goals came in the opening 40 minutes.

Hannah Cottis scored Wells’ first goal of the day, then the next three came off the foot of Sydney Belanger.

Poland’s offense came from Ally Gagnon, who scored both of the Knights goals off corner kicks.

Sydney Hudson made 15 saves for the Knights (1-2), while Lauren Bartlett made 13 stops for the Warriors (3-0).

Field hockey

Lisbon 8, Telstar 0

LISBON — Savannah Czechalski paced the Lisbon Greyhounds with four goals and an assist in a 8-0 field hockey victory over Telstar on Monday.

Sydney Plourde chipped in with two goals, and Morgan Fenderson and Shelby Cyr each scored once. Mallory Fairbanks dished out three assists, while Fenderson, Megan Libby, Peyton Gosselin and Natalie Scott each had one.

Perry Morton made 25 saves for Telstar as the Greyhounds sent 44 shots towards the goal.

Boothbay 6, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD —  It was the Sydney Meader and Chloe Arsenault Show, as Boothbay came away with a 6-0 victory over Dirigo in MVC field hockey.

Both players had a hat trick in Monday’s win. Arsenault finished with four points, as she had the only assist of the game on Meader’s third goal of the afternoon.

Morgan Morrow stopped 19 shots for Dirigo, while her counterpart Emily Amaral stopped 13 in the shutout.
