The Farmington Elks Lodge has presented a check for $2,000 to the Western Maine Homeless Outreach Program in Farmington. The funds, received from the Elks National Foundation in the form of an annual Beacon Grant, will be used for veterans and their families to transition from temporary to permanent homes. Outreach Manager Bobbie Wheeler, left, said the funds will be held in a restricted account and used for security deposits, moving expenses and other needs to help veterans attain permanent housing in the Franklin County area. She is pictured with Tim Callahan, Elks Veterans Service Committee chairman and writer of the grant.
