MacArthur “genius” award-winning blues man Corey Harris will perform at Bates College, his alma mater, at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24. Harris is acclaimed as one of the few able to persuasively channel the raw emotion of acoustic blues. Well-versed in blues history, Harris, a 1991 Bates grad, mixes a wealth of influences — from New Orleans to the Caribbean to Africa – into his music. The concert will take place in the Olin Arts Center Concert Hall, 75 Russell St. Tickets are $25 at batesconcerts.eventbrite.com. Call about free tickets for students and seniors (65+).
