LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Art Group, part of the Union of Maine Visual Artists and the Downtown Lewiston Arts District, is calling for artists to create a proposal for crosswalk designs for downtown Lewiston.

There are specific areas that have been identified near The Public Theatre at 31 Maple St., Bates College and the Fire Station. The theme should revolve around those areas, but some proposals can be saved for future locations.

Designs must be simple and work with one color. Other public art locations and fire hydrants may be available for future design as well. Interested parties can email umvalewistonauburn@gmail.com.

Wicked Illustrations Studio and Gallery, 140 Canal St., is calling for artists to submit work for the Halloween Art Show. Email four jpeg images to wickedillustrations@gmail.com. The show will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27.

The Studio at 291 Lisbon St. is interviewing for studio mates. Interested parties can email Grayling at graylingcunningham@gmail.com
