Himalayan service trip talk planned

BETHEL — Wendy Youmans and Ray Geiger will talk about their recent Indian Himalayan service trip on Friday, Sept. 22, at West Parish Congregational Church.

The event will start at 6 p.m. with a potluck supper followed by the talk at 6:45 p.m.

There is no charge to attend, but those attending should food to share.

Arts and Crafts Association meeting

FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association has scheduled three fall meetings in preparation for its annual crafts fair.

The first meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 26, in Room 123 of the University of Maine at Farmington Student Center. Registrations for the fair will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a business session at 7.

Subsequent meetings are scheduled for Oct. 24 and Nov. 14 at the same location.

An annual event for more than 40 years, the fair this year will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in the student center.

Chesterville Homemakers to meet

CHESTERVILLE — The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at the Chesterville Town Office.

The meeting will include program planning for 2018, so members should come with ideas for learning topics, projects or events. In addition, the meeting will discuss the Rotary Christmas Tree Ornament and Chesterville Town Halloween Party.

The meeting is open to the public.

Farmers market at Old Squire’s Green 

NORWAY — A farmers market with live vendors and a market place will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at Old Squire’s Green, 493 Main St.

Vendors with local produce and products that are raised, grown and produced locally include beef, pork, goat, lamb, bison, vegetables, breads, dairy, sweets, maple syrup, beans, crafts, ravioli, photography, and personal and home care products.

SeniorsPlus office hours 

FARMINGTON — The SeniorsPlus office will be open for scheduled appointments Wednesdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Walk-in hours are from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and will be held on the second Thursday of every month.

Staff will be on hand to answer questions or concerns about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families. These services are free and open to the public.
