Somali Bantu Harvesting Party

AUBURN — Somali Bantu Community of Lewiston-Auburn will hold its fourth annual Harvesting Party from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at Whiting Farm, 876 Summer St.

There will be live, traditional music, dances and traditional food. Children are welcome.

The harvesting party tradition has been in existence for centuries in the homeland of Southern Somalia. 

Lakeside OES Chapter to honor Sideliners

WALES — Lakeside Chapter, OES, will honor Sideliners at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Masonic Building, 233 Centre Road. Refreshments will be served after the meeting with Sonia and Woody Woodrum in charge.

The women will be in colored gowns for the meeting and the men in tuxedos or
dark suits.

All members and Eastern Star visitors are welcome.
