MONMOUTH — Monmouth jumped out to a 4-1 first-half lead and added three more goals after halftime to win in their girls’ soccer match against visiting Lisbon, 7-1, on Wednesday.

Tia Day scored four goals and added two assists, while Audrey Fletcher scored two and helped with three assists.

Goalkeeper Destiny Clough had 12 saves for Monmouth.

Greely 5, Poland 0

POLAND — Julia Martel scored the first goal at the 18:59 mark of the first half, and Greely marched to a 5-0 victory over Poland in girls’ soccer action Wednesday.

The Rangers (6-3) capitalized on many opportunities, taking a 4-0 lead at the midpoint.

Goalie Sydney Hudson made 13 saves for the Knights (1-6-1), while Camille Clement prevented six to earn the win in net for Greely.

Hebron 6, Hyde 0

HEBRON — Hebron racked up six second-half goals to thump visiting Hyde, 6-0, in girls’ soccer action Wednesday.

Leah Bonis and Eliza Beaudin both scored twice for the Lumberjacks.

Hebron’s Aarti Singh recorded two saves in net, while Hyde’s Alice Yokabaskas saved 15 shots.

Oak Hill 3, Hall-Dale 1

LITCHFIELD — Desirae Dumas scored a goal in each half to lead Oak Hill to a 3-1 victory over Hall-Dale in field hockey action Wednesday afternoon.

Lexi Faucher contributed a goal and an assist for the Raiders (5-6). Meagan Sheehy provided teamwork in the battle up front to lay the foundation for Oak Hill’s scoring.

Lauren Hendrickson scored the lone Bulldogs’ (3-7) goal in the second half.

Goalie Mia Rollins made 14 saves for Hall-Dale, while MacKenzie Thibeault tossed away five shots to earn the win in net for Oak Hill.

Mountain Valley 1, Lisbon 1, tie

LISBON — Mountain Valley played Lisbon to a draw Wednesday in field hockey action.

Natalie Scott was the lone goal scorer for Lisbon off an assist from Mallory Fairbanks. Mountain Valley got their goal from Faith Riddick.

Both goalkeepers played well, as Mountain Valley’s Alyssa Akers recorded six saves and Mikaylia Hamden saved 11 for Lisbon.

Hebron 2, Brewster 1

HEBRON — It took an extra period for the Hebron field hockey team to score the winning goal against Brewster Academy, but Callie Walker scored her second of the game with two minutes left to lift the Lumberjacks to a 2-1 win Wednesday.

Emily Tremblay scored the lone goal for Brewster.

Men’s soccer

Southern Maine 3, UMaine-Farmington 2

GORHAM — Sophomore Sam Anderson scored a rare hat trick as the University of Southern Maine edged the University of Maine at Farmington, 3-2, in men’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

Anderson scored his first two goals of the game just three minutes apart in the first half to spot the Huskies (4-5) a 2-0 lead at the break.

Anderson completed the hat trick in the 53rd minute on a strong individual effort. After collecting a loose ball just outside of the 18, Anderson beat two defenders one-on-one, and then slotted the ball home to the far post.

St. Joseph 6, CMCC 1

AUBURN — Alex Anerade and Rosyvelt Baessa netted two goals each as the College of St. Joseph cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Central Maine Community College in men’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

The Fighting Spirit (4-0) took a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Zach Lowe had a penalty kick bounce off the post for CMCC (2-3) in the first half.

Goalie Jacoby Robinson made six saves for CMCC, while Maxwell Singh stopped two to earn the win in net for the College of St. Joseph.

Women’s soccer

Bates 6, Thomas 1

WATERVILLE — Bates scored five goals in a span of 18 minutes in the second half to dispatch Thomas College 6-1 in women’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

First-year So Kim scored the only goal of the first half for the Bobcats (5-1-1).

Junior forward Olivia Amdur broke a 21-minute scoreless stretch with a goal that would hold up as her fourth game-winner of the season. Amdur struck again less than five minutes later with an unassisted tally to make it 3-0.

The Terriers’ (2-7) lone goal was an unassisted tally by Molly Carroll.
