FALMOUTH — Lorraine Mildred Preston, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 1, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Lorraine was born in Orono on Dec. 16, 1929, the daughter of Frederick and Charlotte (Fortier) Babin.
Lorraine spent many of her years on this Earth with one focus, that focus was family. She was so passionate about her grandchildren, she kept daily journals on the time she spent with Garett and Lisa Preston. She valued her time with her grandchildren, recording all events, big and small in her journals. When Lorraine wasn’t spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed baking. There were a few years that she baked for the Ronald McDonald house, spreading her beloved baked goods to all of the guests. As age takes our toll on us, Lorraine decided to hang up her apron after she started losing her eyesight.
Lorraine is survived by her son Gary and his wife Joan Preston of Lewiston; her grandchildren, Garett Preston of Ridley Park, PA and Lisa Preston of Rochester, NH.
In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Milledge A. Preston, two children, Phyllis Preston and Michael Preston and a sister, Carolyn B. Marden.
