Patrick Dempsey signs autographs for an enthusiastic crowd before the start of the 2015 Dempsey Challenge in Lewiston. The challenge is a walk, run and ride fundraiser for the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, a facility created to support people fighting cancer.

LEWISTON — If you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of Patrick Dempsey, he’ll be in Lewiston this Saturday and Sunday, at Simard-Payne Memorial Park, to lead the Dempsey Challenge and spearhead another year of supporting those fighting cancer. For a guaranteed “Patrick sighting,” here’s a schedule of his public appearances throughout the weekend, according to organizers:

 3 p.m. Friday: Patrick will be there to welcome the Challenge to Conquer Cancer Riders as they arrive from South Carolina at Longley Bridge in Lewiston-Auburn.

• 7 a.m. Saturday: Opening ceremonies at the Start Stage.

• 9 a.m Saturday: Patrick will send off the two-day riders from the Start Stage.

• 10 a.m. Saturday: The Dempsey family will lead the Amgen Breakaway from Cancer Survivor Walk. (Visit the Dempsey Challenge information tent at the festival grounds entrance to be directed to the staging area for the walk.)

• 10:30 a.m Saturday (approximately): Patrick will deliver a thank-you from the Entertainment Stage.

• Random sightings: Patrick will be in Simard-Payne Memorial Park throughout the day Saturday to interact with participants and survivors.

• 7 a.m Sunday: Opening ceremonies at the Start Stage.

• 7:30 a.m Sunday: Cyclists depart in waves from the Start Stage. Patrick will be riding, but his distance has yet to be announced.

• 4 p.m. Sunday: Closing ceremonies by Patrick at the Entertainment Stage.
