Dixfield Historical Society annual meeting

DIXFIELD — Dixfield Historical Society will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Museum House Charter Meeting Room

Election of officers and committee appointments will be held.

Members are asked to bring an item to donate for the Christmas Gift Bag raffle.

Business meeting will be followed by Dixfield Trivia Time for all members and guests. Prizes will be awarded.

Finnish American Heritage talk

BRYANT POND — Dale Piirainen will speak about local Finnish American Heritage at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Whitman Memorial Library.

The free program is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

Story hour at New Sharon library

NEW SHARON — Jim Ditzler Memorial Library will host Bee a Reader! Story Hour from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays, Oct. 12 and 26.

Future dates include Nov. 2 and 16; Dec. 7 and 21; Jan. 4 and 18, 2018; Feb. 1 and 15; March 1, 15 and 29; April 12 and 26; and May 10 and 24.

There will be stories, crafts and snacks. Everyone is welcome.

Rumford Area Quilters to meet

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet for fall fabric swap at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Rumford United Methodist Church on Linnell Street.

Members should bring 20 10-inch squares of any fall fabric, 100 percent cotton, that has been washed, dried and ironed.

Show and tell always welcome. All area quilters are invited.
