PARIS — The McLaughlin Garden & Homestead will host its fifth annual Jack O’Lantern Spectacular from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 20 and 21.
The garden will be filled with about 600 carved and lit pumpkins with themes ranging from undersea creatures to Disney favorites to traditional favorites. There will be a few dinosaurs and a wall of woodland creatures — back by popular demand.
There will be surprises and a carved giant pumpkin, a photo booth and healthy snacks. Admission is $5 a person; tickets will be available at the door.
Organizers are also looking for pumpkin carvers. Pumpkins, tools and ideas will be provided. Carvers can come to the barn from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 18 and 19, to choose a pumpkin or two and carve at the garden, 97 Main St.
The activity is open to all ages and there is no charge for participation. Organizers will place and light each pumpkin, so carvers can find their own creation in the garden. On Sunday, Oct. 22, carvers can pick it up their pumpkins to take home.
