LEWISTON — On Saturday, Nov. 4, the Maine Music Society will kick off its concert season with the ever popular Battle of the Blends at 7:30 p.m. at the Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.
Now in its 24th season, Battle is always a sold-out event. Audiences have come to love these extraordinary a cappella singing groups from around New England who gather to present their energetic vocal renditions of jazz, barbershop, pop, rock ‘n’ roll, and Renaissance music.
Coming together to benefit MMS are: The Afternotes, Edward Little’s Fermata Nowhere, the Bowdoin College Meddiebempsters, Divertimenti, the Porch Time Quartet, the Bates College Merrimanders and the Maine Music Society Chamber Singers.
Advance tickets are $25, general seating; $12, children under 12; and prices are $2 more at the door. Group rates: 20 percent off groups of 10 or more.
