Xavier Krumbach makes a scarecrow at the Wilton Free Public Library during the Betty Shibles Memorial Scarecrow Fest and Pumpkin Derby in Wilton on Saturday. The event was named this year for its founder, who passed away suddenly last month.
With 21 entries in the Pumpkin Derby held Saturday afternoon in Wilton and a three-lane track, several heats were run before the top two finishers were determined.
