SOUTH PARIS — Edgar F. Lane Jr., 86, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Maine Veterans’ Homes in South Paris. He was born in Lisbon Falls on May 12, 1931, the son of the late Edgar Sr. and Gertude (Drake) Lane.

Ed lived in Maine his entire life. He was educated in Leeds and went back to school in 1998 to obtain his diploma. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War until his honorable discharge. Ed enjoyed camping with many friends and family, painting, making rugs and lamps, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion in Buckfield, a member of the Court St. Baptist Church, volunteered at CMMC and worked as a greeter at Walmart. Ed was a dairy farmer throughout most of his life in Maine.

Ed is survived by his son, David and wife, Anita Lane of Turner; his daughter, Debra and husband, Michael Terrell of Durham; his six grandchildren, Stephen Drapeau and wife, Jen, Ken Lane and significant other, Nicole, Jason Drapeau, Hope Lane, Nichol Soule and husband, Michael and Eric Lane and wife, Melissa; his 13 great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Raejean Lester and Carol Riley; his two brothers, Leigh Lancaster and Alan Lane; his significant other, Anna Jipson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Lavinia (Collins); his parents; and his eldest daughter, Kathleen Drapeau.
