AUBURN — There is no School Committee candidate on the ballot for Ward 4.
City Clerk Susan Clements-Dallaire said the seat could be filled with a write-in candidate.
If a write-in candidate gets a minimum of 25 votes and is willing to accept the seat, that individual could be sworn into office.
If that doesn’t happen, she said, “We would have to start the nomination process and hold a special election for that seat.”
She has heard there may be a person interested in being a write-in candidate, but on Wednesday she had no name.
It’s unfortunate that no one filed nomination papers on time to be included on the ballot, School Committee Chairman Tom Kendall said in an email.
“I believe there is someone mounting a write-in campaign,” he said.
