Lifetree discussing mental illness

LEWISTON — The mysteries and meaning of mental illness will be explored at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, at Lifetree Cafe at South Lewiston Baptist Church, 1919 Lisbon Road.. A potluck dinner will be held at 5:30 before the discussion on mental illness.

The program, “Mysteries of Mental Illness: One Woman’s Struggle to Regain Her Life,” features a filmed interview with Karen McCracken, a woman diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and author of “Breaking Free from OCD.”

“It got to a point that I would have to read every sign I saw when I went somewhere,” McCracken said. “If I saw a sign in my peripheral vision, I thought something bad would happen if I didn’t stop to read it.”
