BETHEL — Back-to-back public hearings on a proposed change to the SAD 44 cost-sharing formula and amendments to Bethel’s commercial wind ordinance will take place Thursday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Bethel Inn Conference Center behind the Town Office.

They were rescheduled from Monday because of the storm.

The SAD 44 hearing will be up first, as the town managers and selectmen of Bethel and Newry present information, including financial impacts to all the towns, and the reasons they support the plan. It was unclear Tuesday if Greenwood and Woodstock town officials would be available to participate. The managers and board chairmen of the four towns crafted the proposal, which will be voted on districtwide Nov. 7.

Following that hearing, expected to last about an hour, Bethel will hold public hearings on proposed amendments to the town’s commercial wind ordinance and a request for authorization for selectmen to dispose of the former West Bethel Children’s Center building. The wind proposal will be voted on at a special town meeting Nov. 13.
