MECHANIC FALLS — In addition to the RSU 16 school bond vote, Mechanic Falls has one local referendum question on the 2017 ballot.

The question asks voters to authorize town officials to issue a bond in the name of the town to refinance the existing debt of $224,500 and to buy a building and fund minor renovations to create a new municipal complex at 22 Pleasant St. for $500,000. The building would house town offices, the Police Department and the library.

The total bond would be $724,500 plus interest.

The town offices would move from the former high school at 108 Lewiston St.

Voting will be held at the Mechanic Falls Town Office from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
