College planning workshop set
WILTON — “MEOC-101, Essentials of College Planning” will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Wilton CareerCenter, 865 Route 2E.

Coats for children available in Jay
JAY — A supply of outerwear for Coats for Kids has been received by the Town Office and is available free at Depot Laundry in the Jay Plaza.
There are coats of all sizes for people in need, Town Clerk Ronda Palmer said.
Six bags of coats were received.
Homemade pies for sale
PARIS — Homemade pies for Thanksgiving will be available through AMVETS Auxiliary 777.
Pies, all made from scratch using natural ingredients, will be apple, pumpkin or custard. Orders will be taken until Saturday, Nov. 11. Apple and pumpkin are $12 and custard is $13.
Pies will be made Sunday, Nov. 19, and may be picked up from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at 12 Church St. Payment will be due at the time of order.

Oxford Hills AARP to meet
PARIS — The Oxford Hills Chapter of AARP will meet Monday, Nov. 13, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.
A beef stew lunch will be served at noon. The cost for lunch is $8, and reservations are required by Friday, Nov. 10.
The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. with suggestions for upcoming meetings. The book and puzzle swap will continue. The project for this meeting will be filling bags for shut-ins, so members should bring fillings for the bags. For those who wish to contribute, there will also be a collection for the Christmas for Kids project.

Christmas card class offered
PARIS — A Christmas card class will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Maine Veterans’ Home, 477 High St.
The fee of $30 includes making two cards of nine designs, beverages, snacks and materials. $15 of each registration goes to the Veterans’ Home Activities Fund.

Honey bee workshop, meeting
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club’s workshop/meeting will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
A round table discussion of where hives should be in November and what should be done to hives for winter preparation/survival will be held.
