PARIS — In the only contested race in Paris, Mike Dignan beat Fred Labbe for the SAD 17 director’s position during Tuesday’s election.

Dignan garnered 693 votes to Labbe’s 300. Dignan will serve the remaining six-months on Cecil Dietrich’s term. The seat will be up for re-election in June 2018.

Dignan could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.

Town Clerk Liz Knox reported steady voting at the Paris Fire Station on Election Day. There were 996 voters who showed up at the polls and 98 absentee ballots were cast.
