PARIS — The Paris Public Library will host a book signing by Juliese Padgett for her children’s book, “The Newest Flower,”  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.

Because adoptee Juliese experienced being thrown into a new culture, the 12-year-old author wrote the tale of a flower garden where a new flower appears. The story explores how it and the others learned to love themselves and one another, regardless of “what type of flower you are.”

All profits from the book are being donated to Holt International, which strives to find forever families for orphans from around the world. Sold on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and iTunes, the book is available in soft, hard and e-book editions.
